Hawaii's Mauna Loa volcano erupts for first time in nearly 40 years.

Hawaii’s Mauna Loa, the world’s largest active volcano,located on the Big Island of Hawaii, began erupting and sending ash and volcanic debris into the sky. Mauna Loa erupted on November 27 for the first time since 1984, ending its longest quiet period in recorded history.Although lava flew down one side of the volcano, the eruption in the Hawaii Volcanoes National Park didn’t not threaten communities.
